Hamza

Hello. My name is Hamza Farooq, and I’m the President of the Allentown chapter of the Helping Hearts Charitable Foundation. I’m a senior at Penn State University, currently on the pre-med track and working toward a future in medicine rooted in service, empathy, and advocacy. I grew up in an underserved area where access to basic medical supplies and healthcare representation was extremely limited. Seeing those challenges firsthand had a lasting impact on me and continues to fuel my commitment to this line of work. Through Helping Hearts, I’ve had the chance to help support communities facing similar struggles by providing essential health resources and care. My goal is to become a physician who not only treats patients, but also helps transform the conditions that impact their health

Taha

Hi, my name is Taha Mirrani and I’m the Vice President of the Allentown chapter of the Helping Heart Charitable Foundation. I’m a junior at Muhlenberg University, majoring in biology. I plan on attending medical school and pursuing a career as a physician. Having experienced various social determinants of health, both within the Allentown community and those faced by my family abroad, I understand how heavily they influence health outcomes. This, paired with what I’ve learned from physicians who have practiced in many countries around the world, has strengthened my dedication to a future in healthcare. Through Helping Heart, I hope to make an impact in underserved communities in the Lehigh Valley by providing them with essential medical supplies and hygiene products.
